The Avalanche J is similar in dimension to the EVO J with a 22.7" scale neck and a 1 5/8" nut width but, like the Avalanche 1S, the Avalanche J has 3 single coil pickups, 1 volume, 1 tone control, and a 5 way switch. The center pickup is reverse wound/reverse polarity to eliminate hum in the 2nd and 4th positions. The Avalanche J uses the same bridge as the EVO J allowing for optimum set up. Even though these guitars were originally designed for students and smaller players, they can also be tuned up a minor third or a full fourth for a completely different sound. |
